Seven Left

Matt and I always thought we'd have more than two kids.

Before I got diagnosed, we were waiting to find out what was wrong with me. I didn't want to get pregnant and have something seriously wrong that might require surgery & be prego. So we waited until I got a diagnosis.

After the diagnosis, we decided to wait 6 months for my '6 month MRI.' I definitely did NOT want to be pregnant when they stuck me under a magnet that could pull metal off the moon.

Now the MRI is over and I have seven injections left.

We are hoping to get prego soon, but we will see.

Good thing is I don't have to stick myself for a while!

6 Month Check-up

I had my 6 month MRI just before Christmas. My 6 month anniversary isn't until February-ish, but because we have a $1000. deductible, I thought it wise to get the MRI in before the new insurance year.

Dr. D, the neuro, said he didn't see any new lesions. New lesions=bad.

He did see lesions they didn't see in my other film but he believed these were visible because of the extremely high tech machine I used this time.

I left the office on cloud 9. When the dr. asked if I wanted to see my pictures, I told him I didn't if he had bad news. He assured me it was not bad news and I agreed.

I was so stoked about my news that I completely forgot to ask any of the questions I wanted to ask.

Oh well, I have no new lesions. I am thanking God!

FYI

When administering your meds, it is important to avoid your veins, even the little ones. They bleed as well. You will also end up with a pretty bruise, swollen area and a broken vein. Real nice.

Happy sticking.

Say WHAT?

These are the faces of my friends and family.

These lovely faces got out of the house on a lazy Sunday when the weather was screaming, "Stay inside in your jammies and be lazy and watch football and drink warm beverages and eat cake and junk and put your hand in your pants!"

That last part only applies to the men and boys in the group.

What you don't see is the money I raised and the people that donated to the National MS Society on behalf of me.

My original goal was $300. But because people are crazy generous I met that in a few days of setting it. So I upped the goal to $500 and because people are extra crazy generous I met that PLUS two hundred & seventy smackaroos!!

The amount of $720 is what I raised, it does not include what my team raised on their own. Some money hasn't been tallied because checks were written, BUT so far we raised $983!!!!

Let me say that again $983!!!

WHAT? I said, NINE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY THREE DOLLARS CASH MONEY!!

Once the money is counted that Matt raised on his own we will have raised over $1000

Let me write that out like I am writing a check to
NMSS.
(click on the link to see our team and the other teams.)

One thousand dollars and 00/100--------
Holy Cow! You people are awesome.

So far, my team, Megan's Mates are in the lead in the most money raised!!

I'm just so thankful and humbled and appreciative. It was so nice to go back to UCO, walk the grounds and reminice of times gone by. I have some wonderful wonderful memories there. It was nice to create a new memory that didn't cost an enrollment fee or a parking ticket.

It is important to point out one person who went all out for our team... Cole H. If you look in the picture, kind of in the middle, is a little boy dressed like a pirate. Get it? Megan's Mates.. Pirate. Next year, there will be team shirts. Be ready for that.

These Asics Were Made For Walking

Tomorrow is the big day. I report for walking duty at 1:30 pm in Edmond on the campus of my alma mater, UCO. I will report alongside my friends and family.

I will put my asics to good use tomorrow at 2:00pm. I will actually let them take a walk. They haven't been on a walk in a while; since November 2008.

Tomorrow I will make those of you who are standing behind me with your donations proud. Tomorrow my friends and family will make me proud to know them.
Tomorrow I will walk for me and for those who fight the same fight.
Tomorrow I will attempt to find some warm clothes that are worthy of wearing outside of the house. (I'm really nervous about that. Please do not send "What Not To Wear" as I will be wearing things they frown upon.)
Tomorrow my family will do our first Walk MS event. I hope they find a cure so you guys can save your money!! haha
Tomorrow I will walk and be so so proud of all of my friends and my family.

I have been so blown away by your generosity that I am speechless.

Thank you!

Don't Forget

A few weeks ago, I began emailing friends and family asking people to join my Walk MS team and or donate to help find a cure.

The response has been overwhelming, to say the least. I knew people loved me, but I didn't realize just how much.

But I thought has been bouncing in my head lately, one I can't seem to shake.

"I hope people don't forget."

I don't want people to forget my battle. I say that with caution because I don't want people to forget but I don't want them to feel sorry for me.

I'm newly diagnosed so there is still a shock value when people find out. Five or six years down the road, I don't want what I have to becoming, well I'm not sure how to say it. I want their support now and years down the road. I guess I hope people don't get sick of supporting me.

So my hope is that a cure is found soon. If a cure is not found soon, then I hope people will remember me and will remember to pray for me and my family. Every one's life will go back to normal after October 11, but I will still have MS.

WALK MS Goal

So I have wonderful friends.

My original goal of $300 was met last week! High-5!

So I have decided to up my goal to $500!!

Pretty sure that is too easy. I want to raise the most out of the 'friends and family' category. I think I can! I know I can.

So here is the link to my personal page, once there you can donate OR you can join my team, 'Megan's Mates' & walk with me the day of the event, October 11.
